Jr. NBA Leagues are official recreational basketball leagues of the NBA and WNBA, which allow every young athlete to develop fundamental basketball skills and learn the core values of the game in a positive and inclusive environment.

Divisions include the following:

Rookie 6-8year-olds

Starter 9–11-Year-olds

All-Star 12–14-Year-olds - In the 12–14-year-old division, team cannot be coed

About Our Program

Our program includes 5v5 basketball that teaches the basic skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, defending, etc. The games are played at local facilities, such as churches.

Team practice is on Tuesdays or Thursdays for up to 90 minutes. Team practices will be held at properties owned by the City of Alexandria (Frank O Hunter Gymnasium or the Alexandria Teen Center). 8U and under can only attend one practice per week per JR. NBA Rules. All players will be required to attend at least one practice weekly to participate in Saturday game activities.

Teams will play games for 6 weeks on Saturdays. For the Summer 25 season, games will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Pineville Louisiana. Our season will start on Saturday, July 12, 2025 and will end on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

Players must register as "Free Agents" (individually) and can request to play with family or friends (placement with friends or a specific coach is not guaranteed). By policy, no refunds are given after the first day that registration closes. If a player will be absent the entire season due to illness, a future credit may be given at our discretion.

Team rosters will have a maximum of 8 to 10 players (with few exceptions)

Jr. NBA Leagues have a "no cut" policy and every player that registers will have a roster spot

Official NBA reversible jersey and matching game shorts

All of our coaches are volunteer and we welcome all who would like to coach. No experience is needed. However, Coaches are required to complete a background check, have current CPR and first aide or attend a class, complete concussion training, and complete abuse and neglect training all of which are provided by our organization.

Refund Policy

If a participant's registration is cancelled before the registration deadline (the first day after regular registration closes), a full refund will be issued minus a $15.00 cancellation fee and any applicable transaction fees

After the regular registration deadline, no refunds will be issued. However, we may at our discretion issue a future credit minus any transaction/processing fees, discounts, or equipment that has been ordered. Any future credits will be good for one year.

Refund requests will only be considered upon written notice to JCW Foundation at [email protected] by the applicable registration deadline. This does not include refunds issued by our organization due to issues beyond our control.

For coaches: All JR NBA coaches who have a child or children in the program and complete the season will receive a refund at the end of the season. Coaches must be present 85% of the practices and games to receive refund.
