2024 Spring Season - NFL Flag FB-ALEXANDRIA

Welcome to NFL Flag Football.  We are excited to have you join our NFL Flag Football League.  Whether your focus is developing fundamentals, enhancing current skills, or looking to enjoy the experience, this is the program for your child.  The Spring 2024 season will run from March 2, 2024 to April 13, 2024.  There will be a bye week April 6, 2024.  

Below is some important information for the 2024 Spring Season:


1.  Practice Days:
a.  
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30PM to 7PM
b.  
Players must attend at least one weekly practice to participate in the weekly league games. 
c.  Players are not required to stay the entire practice.
c.  Adjustments to practice days may have to be made occasionally due to the weather.

2.  Practice Location:
a.  O'Hearn Matthews Sports Complex, located at 6107 Bayou Rapides Road, Alexandria LA.


3.  Game Days/Location:
a.  
The season will include 6 games
  b.  Games will be scheduled on Saturday starting at 10AM and may be played on multiple fields if needed. 
c.  In the event that Saturday's games have to be cancelled, such as for weather, games may be rescheduled to Sunday afternoon starting at 3PM.
d.  Games will be held at O'Hearn Matthews Sports Complex.

4.  Game Length:
a.  30 minutes for 5U division and up to 1 hour for all other divisions.

5.  Team Size:
a.  Preferred team size is 6 to 8 players to allow for sufficient development and playing time for each player.
b.  Each team should have no more than 10 players.

6.  Season costs:
a.  
Registration for Spring 2024 is $100.00 per player for the 5U division and $130.00 per player for all other divisions
b.  Registration secures a place on the team, an NFL reversible jersey, and flag belt/flags, which is theirs to keep. 
c.  Players will also need
shorts (without pockets), mouthpieces, and football or soccer cleats.  

7.  Additional NFL Gear:  
a.  Additional items are not required but can be purchased during registration. 
b.  If not purchased during registration, a link will be sent to parents after teams are assigned and additional items can be purchased.


8.  Discounts and Scholarships:
a.  
A $10.00 discount per player is available until December 31, 2023, for all divisions except 5U.  A coupon is not needed for this discount because it is included with registration.
b.  Limited funds are available for need-based scholarship assistance.  If interested, scholarship application should be filled out and submitted before season registration is completed.
c.  An application and proof of need must be submitted for scholarships.  
d.  If approved, a coupon will be issued to assist with registration costs.  
e.  Full scholarships are not available but up to 50% off registration fees per child may be available depending on need.

9.  Awards:
a.  Players in the 5U and 7U divisions will receive individual awards.
b.  Players in other divisions will receive a certificate for recognition of their contributions.

10.  Volunteering:
a.  In order to manage costs effectively, our organization relies on parents and family volunteers to coach and manage our teams as well as to check in players and handle the concession area.  Please indicate if you would like to volunteer on the registration form.

11.  Registration after February 10, 2024, will be based on availability.
